There are people in laboratories assigned to do work that I feel is ultimately self-destructive.
Of course there’s the idea of the scientific challenge which might draw people to such careers but also there are - with the scientific challenge - there’s the attraction of the risk factor and as you know - many of you, sometimes things that are risky are more appealing to some people.
So, I’m not here to indict laboratories or scientists where most of them are doing well but there are a few places where unnecessary risks are being pursued and I’d like to talk briefly about one today.
The desire to clone life forms is strong right now, popular you might say - almost a fad in such places, and the desire to simply do something because maybe it can be done is there as well.
I would like to appeal that you don’t try to clone dinosaurs just because it’s exciting and fun or any creatures from that period. You think you can control it but you won’t be able to.
So, that’s all I’m going to say about that. I don’t want to interfere with the process of maturation of the human race on Earth but I do feel that some things are unnecessary risks.
