I remember there was an occasion when I was living in the trailer park where there had been a great deal of rain, much of it unexpected and it being towards the later part of winter there was also snow further up the canyon and then with the alternating rain and snow and the creek running very high indeed the prediction came from the weather people that they were expecting a huge storm to arrive and they were predicting anywhere between four and five inches of rain for the city itself and for us up in the canyon of course it was always more. So people were very worried especially those in the first few rows of the trailer park near the creek.
I remember wondering if there was something I ought to do about that as I had been taught how to work with the weather and yet I had made a friend in the park and she and I were discussing it one day - this at about - oh maybe a day to a day and a half before the storm was scheduled to arrive and I suddenly had a flash of insight as it was something that I'd worked on once before in such a manner.
I remember saying to her even though there was absolutely every bit of evidence to the contrary that the storm was going to miss us to the north. She looked at me. She said, "Okay?" I said, "Now, the storm is going to miss us to the north" and I remember requesting that she go around and tell people in the park that the storm was going to miss us to the north.
I don't recall exactly what she did but I know I told one or two others who I was quite certain were the sort of social type of people who would tell everybody else and thats what I did.
Well, I don't have to tell you do I - the storm missed us to the north much to everybody's amazement. Now I'm not trying to say that I am some kind of magician but rather it occurred to me that this was an occasion in which people could express a sense of welcoming the sun without actually knowing that this is what was going on. It is not manipulation when it causes relief and happiness - keep that in mind when it comes to the shamanic and mystical world. Sometimes when people are frightened and don't know what to do they get upset easily - we can all understand that - and so this was not a psychological suggestion either.
It was a statement made with energy - I felt the energy come in when I said that to my friend and she felt it too as a sensitive person. It just so happened that I had some little reputation in the trailer park and a few people knew that I was a spiritual person and one particular friend - an elderly man who had insights about such things understood when I told him that the storm would miss us to the north - what that meant - and when he told others - as he told me later - he said it in such a way - in some cases very nonchalant and in other cases a little more firmly that everyone in the park believed it and expected that when they got up the next morning that the sun would be shining brightly - and so it was.
Sometimes the littlest things can bring about the best things. This was not a case of allusion or delusion. It was not a case of wishful thinking. Everyone went to bed expecting and welcoming and feeling relieved that the sun would be out brightly the next day which it was. Well, thats my short story for today. It worked out well.
Goodlife.

With The Assistance Of Mother Earth And Greenstone
I remember once when I was living in the trailer park that the waters of the creek rose high, very high.
I had been given a piece of greenstone by some friends from New Zealand who were Maori. Greenstone is something very precious to the Maori people and it is something that is found in water and my Maori friend who is a Mystical Man and Shaman said that it worked well with water especially.
Well the water was up very high and I decided that since it was threatening the first two rows of the trailer park and some damage had already been done - my trailer was back several rows - that I would perhaps try the greenstone. I hadn't been sure whether it was alright to try the greenstone before that or whether it was alright to interfere with nature because floods are part of her way of cleansing herself.
Still I was concerned for my neighbors - while none of them was in any danger they were frightened. So I took the greenstone and went with a friend who was someone I was teaching and we went over to the water. Granted the water was not clean but I felt it was necessary to stand in it because I had to address the water as an entity.
I took out the greenstone and encouraging my student to observe but not stare I placed the greenstone in the water. It seemed to glow a little bit - purple. Then I said a Living Prayer requesting that the water be higher on the side that the trailer park was not on.
I realize that sounds ridiculous perhaps, to you since water will be flat across its surface but I asked for what I felt was needed. The greenstone then showed - I could see it and so could my student - a purple image of itself which moved around in a particular cycle above it.
We glanced at it since we did not feel it was appropriate to stare at it doing its work and we stayed for about five or ten minutes saying prayers. Well, what happened next was something that I'm sure many of you will say is not possible but what occurred is that even though the water was predicted to rise it did not rise on the side where the trailer park was on - it rose on the other side where there were no trailers, no people and only the lands of nature.
Granted the only explanation could be that it was rising on a slanted pattern - meaning higher on one side than on the other and I could clearly see that the marker we all used to check how high the water was - which was a post on which the mailbox for the trailer park sat - was covered but that on the side where the trailer park was, that the water had receded.
I thought I'd share this with you not to suggest that I am so grand or anything like that but just to suggest that there are things in nature and in life that we do not understand all the time but which are benevolent and love us and will work with us at times when requested.
Goodlife.

With The Assistance Of Grandmother
There was a time many years ago when I had an opportunity to get to know somebody better after their death then during life - does that not sound strange?
I was living in a trailer park that was in a particularly nice area of Arizona. It was however an area that was prone to floods from time to time - not generally devastating floods but just rises in water.
The person I referred to was my neighbor - lived nearby me. Oh, we would wave - you know how it is - you wave at your neighbor and then you go on about your business. We never really had much of a chance to say anything but, "Hi, how yah doin?" You know, like that.
One day there was an unexpected flood and my neighbor being unused to the area and the way things went there did not know or perhaps forgot that the water would roll over the bridge that led from one place to another and that even though it may not look like very much it could be more that it seemed and it was the case on that day.
It was enough so that her small car which was not very heavy was floated over the bridge and into the water and while my neighbor was strong and athletic she could not fight it and disappeared downstream. Heroic efforts were made by other neighbors to rescue her but it was not possible. Such tragedies happen often and when we read about them or hear about them we are sad and perhaps we say prayers as I often do.
Still this was somebody that I knew, not well granted but a neighbor - quite a shock. Something happened shortly thereafter though that was an unusual event even in my life.
I remember that there was a search on for (I'll call her) Ronni. It was a search and rescue for a time and then it became a recovery for a time. I was sitting in my trailer pondering the suddenness of my neighbor's disappearance when all of a sudden I saw Ronni walking cheerfully along the path that led past my trailer to hers and she looked perfectly joyful, perfectly happy the way she always did - even more cheerful actually.
The thing about it is that she was - I could see her in complete form - she was a light being - beautiful white and gold and I jumped up and looked at her. She glanced at me very surprised but not upset, smiled and continued on her way.
I suppose you could just call this something like a ghost experience but it's not frightening at all. She looked wonderful. I had never seen her look so cheerful. She walked around her trailer, walked around the park a bit and then came back and sat in another part of the trailer and looked at me and she said, "You can see me" and I said, "Yes" and she said, "I had heard that you had gifts and were a Shaman. It's true isn't it" and I said, "Yes."
She said, "I wish we had gotten to know each other better but I don't know how long I'm going to be here" and I said, "You're welcome to stay until you feel the need to move on or you can come and visit anytime you like."
So for the next sixteen hours she would come and go and when she would come by she would sit, though I didn't get the impression she was tired - just putting me at ease perhaps and we'd chat about this and that. Never anything about after death experience. It didn't seem right you know.
She would talk about life in the park and how beautiful it was and how she never had really noticed how beautiful it was during life. It was a pretty place. Many trees, friendly neighbors - a nice place to live.
At one point though and it was about at the sixteenth hour - she was talking about something - I don't remember what and all of a sudden there was a white light behind her and she said, "Oh, Grandmothers here" and I saw with the light - two arms of light reach out and reach around her as one might see someone hug another person from the back and pull her gently towards the light and then there was only the white light and then she was gone.
It was a magical time. I was comforted by seeing her be so happy and heres the postscript - at almost the same time - the recovery operation was successful and she was found. I'm not saying that there was an absolute connection between the recovery and the coming of Grandmother but it seems like there may have been and I'm happy I could be there for her after her passing and I'm feeling it's alright to share this story with you now. I'm hopeful that if any of her friends or relatives read this that they will be comforted to know that she was happy and moved on with the aid of Grandmother.
