A Precursor To Healing, Part 2
Now last time we did our initial homework in detecting the possibilities for a need for healing. Today we're going to take that a little bit farther and this is why it has to be a friend, a very good friend or a mate. Today I want you to do the same exact thing you did last time only instead of smelling the back of each others hands I want you to see if you can smell the shoulder - it has to be the bare shoulder. It can be, I recommend, approached from the back so that you are either smelling the left shoulder or the right shoulder.
Remember you do not actually touch that shoulder with your nose. Just get down close within an inch or two and see if you can detect a fragrance.
It will probably be different but the whole point of this is to discover the differences in the smell a person exudes as they are in their normal state of being or as they may be during a true experience of certain feelings.
The reason we're doing this is to help you to come to the point where you can use this system to detect whether you or a loved one or a good friend - yes something in the family so to speak - may need some attention.
Sometimes one does not notice this on oneself but if you have someone near and dear to you they can ask you, "I notice you have a different fragrance about you today. Is there something that needs help? Do you need this? Do you need that?" You understand?
This can be a particularly good method if there is some difficulty in communicating with a language as might come up at some time of life if your friend or mate has some difficulty in communicating in that moment.
There may be many reasons for this. So I'm not suggesting that will happen to you and I'm not suggesting that other means won't be available to check into the condition of ones health but this is an old thing that is still in practice by some Shamans around the world today.
It is also in practice on a regular basis by many of your pets. You will often see your dog or your cat smelling something and there is great fascination about what that might mean. It almost always has to do with a wide range of possibilities.
Not only who is this person - meaning you might, as a dog or a cat, know the other animal or the other human - yah - you might be smelling them but also it gives you a wide range of possibilities for a dog or a cat - are these people a threat or if they are a good friend do they need something? How can I help and so on. Any number of questions.
Also as you've noticed with dogs especially and sometimes cats they will taste you. They will perhaps come up and lick you. I know sometimes this is done for affection but a great many times especially with the first taste they're checking to see how you taste.
They know how you taste when you're happy or when you're in your normal state of being. They also might know if they've been with you long enough how you taste when you're angry, when you're upset or when you need help. And so they will use this skill.
Human beings especially in ancient cultures and often the Shaman people in those cultures, also known as Medicine Men or Mystical Men or Medicine Women or Mystical Women and so on, will have learned these skills and abilities from observation, practice and training. I feel that for those of you who are interested in this kind of thing it might be worth trying it out.
I'm not going to go into great detail on how it can be used but I will build on this at another time in the future. Goodlife.

A Precursor To Healing, Part 1
Now I want to start something new for you here. It will require a lot of close observation and it may not work for everyone but it's something that has been addressed in one of my Shamanic Secrets books and it has to do with ancient methods that support healing and detection that something may be needing healing.
You can use it on yourself and you can also use it with a loved one, preferably a mate, or a very good friend as long as they are open to practicing this with you. Make certain that that is the case so that it will work the best.
It involves use of your capacity to notice fragrance. It is a practice that requires your being able to notice subtle changes so it will work best in a room or a place that you're either very familiar with and used to the fragrances that are present or someplace where there is no particular fragrance that you can detect.
Then this is what to do. It might be worthwhile, if you want to, to take a bath or a shower without using any soap that has fragrance within it but if that's not convenient you can skip that step though I do recommend at least taking a bath or a shower to rinse yourself from the days activities.
Then after drying off and wearing whatever garments you wish, something lightweight would be useful unless it's cold where you are then wear what you need to wear - after all really all that's needed to be exposed initially is your hands, then the thing to do is to pull your own hand up to your nose - the back of either hand - and just smell it.
You probably won't notice anything because you're used to your own smell but in order to check your capacity to smell, if that is in doubt, you can always smell something that has a distinct odor. Oh, such as any product that comes these days - soap or anything like that that you happen to have handy.
If you can smell it distinctly then put it away so it doesn't interfere with your detection and then ask your mate or partner if you can hold their hand for a moment and hold the back of their hand up to your nose and notice if you can smell anything different than your own hand. This does not mean anything at this point. This is practice.
Then I want you both to sit opposite each other. Not to the right, not to the left but opposite if this is at all possible and focus on some feeling - meaning I recommend you start with happiness or joy. It can be love but try to make it the same feeling that you're both focusing on and while you are focusing on it - so this will involve having to do 2 things at once - while you are focusing on that feeling to the best of your ability allow your mate, or your good friend, to smell the back of your hand.
Now remember you're sitting opposite each other so your knees are not touching - alright - you're feet are not touching.
So at some point when you both feel like you're into that feeling stand up or move closer together but do not touch each other and smell the back of each others hands. You can do it one at a time or you can do this both at the same time - it's up to you. See if you can notice any difference in the odor.
Then sit back down opposite each other again and focus on the feeling of being tired. If it's at the end of the day this may not be difficult but if it's a day or a block of time you've set aside to practice this then focus - imagine being tired. You don't have to imagine being dead tired but very tired. Then again when you both have that feeling stay focused on that feeling and smell the back of each others hands.

The mystical And Shamanic Can Be Done Even If....
I want to talk to you about something today because I think some of you may be confused about this, I know I was at one time.
Even though many of you may be on the spiritual path or even choosing now or in the future to be on the mystical path it's important to know that there is no reason to expect some kind of perfection from yourself as a result. The purpose is not to learn how to be perfect.
The purpose is to have a means to serve and help the people and other beings if you can in the best way you have available to you.
I want to give you a little information here about that. I have some medical challenges I have had for my whole life. I know many people in the mystical and shamanic world that also have this. It's important for you to know this - we are just like everybody else.
We have some problems and others help us just the way we help others. It is not some type of thing where we are these ideal beings and we are sharing our ideal capabilities - nothing like that. We are all just like you - where we have our strengths - our things that we can do well and other things that are more of a challenge to us.
I recall once having a conversation with a wise old shaman. He told me that, when I consulted with him about what I'm saying to you now - meaning how come I could do all these things and had been taught all these things and still had medical challenges, he kind of chuckled and said, "You know," he said, "we all have these things." I've been taught how to do things too. I've been able to work on people and several times even bring people back from the brink of passing over. Of course I feel good about these things," he said, "and yet I have problems myself. I feel," he said, "that these things keep us humble. They keep us connected to the earth and they keep us from having any sense of being better than."
That's what he said. Those are not his exact words but they're pretty close as I recall.
I believe that this is true. I'm not saying to seek out physical ailments if you don't have them but I am saying that if you have physical ailments don't assume that you cannot do these things.
I'm not here to complain about my ailments, I'm just saying that I have them and I have been taught to do things that I feel are of great value as I've shared here and on Benevolent Magic blog and will continue to do so and even though I have these ailments I can still do these things.
So, be of good cheer. If you have difficulties you can still learn - you may adapt sometimes the things that I teach here so that you can do them no matter what your challenge is and if it works benevolently for you and others that's what counts.
I just wanted to pass that on to you so you didn't think that I had achieved some level of perfection. Perfection after all is identified and clarified and defined by different people in different ways.
It seems to me that as a society - a global society - we are all striving towards perfection and perfection in my mind is that which allows us all to have the food we need, the shelter we require, the love, the nurturance and support that we need from our fellow beings and a benevolent life and a benevolent lifestyle.
It is not a individual thing only - though yes, we need and want that. It is also the global family. When we all have that, I feel there will be no disease by any one person, no ailments, no pains and aches even because when we all have that - the messages that we feel as pain in our body when it isn't a disease are often messages picked up by our sensitivity that someone else somewhere is suffering and hurting.
Remember, if you get those pains and aches that come and go I recommend saying the following Living Prayer. I recommend saying, "I am asking that all those beings who need help, love, support and nurturance receive all that they need in the most benevolent way now from all those beings who can help them."

Blessing The Land
I recall once after a flood - it was when I was living in the canyon in Arizona. The place I was living had a creek right there and as creeks do - it flooded.
This was a particularly strong flood and it was so strong it rolled rocks and boulders along the creek. If you stood near it during the flood in a safe place but near it, you could hear the clicking sound of the big boulders being moved by the surge of water.
I recall when the flood receded that the trees all looked badly damaged. I was concerned that some of them would not survive.
I recall that I stood out on the bridge - it was a low water bridge which allows the water to flow over it during a flood so even though the bridge was beat up a bit it was still possible to stand on it. I remember standing in the middle of the bridge and inviting benevolent energy to be present to heal the trees and to bring healing energy to the creek bed and to the places where the animals lived and to support the people who lived along the creek.
Within just a few seconds I was surrounded by gold light. There was a twinkling in the light as well and I could see when I looked at the trees a sort of glistening effect.
I feel that it helped the trees because within a few weeks the trees looked so much better and they were already showing new branches with new leaves. I'd like to think that the animals and the people may have benefited as well.
I'd like to suggest to you who live in and around flood areas that you try that as well. Make sure you are standing someplace safe or if you need to, sit someplace safe and ask that benevolent energies come in to support that area.
If you like you could say a Living Prayer which is similar to the one I said. You might say, "I am asking that the most benevolent energy come in now to support and sustain this area and all its life be it plants, animals or people to bring about the most benevolent healing and comfort to recover from this recent flood and may this all occur in the most benevolent way."
You could if you like say that Living Prayer and then if you notice something thats fine. If you don't try to be quiet for a few minutes afterwards because you are the one that is requesting this and so the energy when it comes through will ground itself through you.
You are not necessarily the only source of this energy but as a human being living on Earth you act very much like a lens through which this energy focuses and that is why before, during and after you say this it's good to be quiet and allow the energy to pass through you.
If there is sound around you there's not much you can do about that but see if you can avoid reacting to the sound. It might then be necessary to say this at a time and place when it is less likely that you will have to react to the sound. Thats what I recommend.

Passing On The Energies Benevolently, Part 2
I spoke to you last time about breathing in benevolent energy through your head and blowing it at something that would improve the energy in that area as in the case of a room for instance that didn't feel good. Now I want to give you part two of that.
I have at times seen visions of cars crashing or even planes in desperate straits - always this is something at a great distance. I can tell because very often the planes look old - meaning the type of planes that might have been flown during World War Two that are still being flown here and there around the world but no place around where I live - and the cars frequently look a bit unusual - for instance it came up just the other day where I saw a couple of cars - it looked like they were going to crash and at first I didn't know what to make of it because it was a vision - a vision in my case meaning like a waking dream - seeing it but being wide awake.
Then I remembered to do the energy and so the energy came in and I felt it very benevolently at the top of my head and I breathed in slowly and I consciously made the effort to blow that energy towards the picture I had seen - the vision you understand and I also requested that it be gold light and when I do this I always see it as gold light spreading towards that.
I've done that also in situations where I felt that a plane might be in trouble. As I've said I always seem to see it with these old cargo planes that may be operating in some distant part of the world.
I don't do it as a rule with things that I see in person physically but I have done this a few times with human beings who are not feeling good - individuals - people I know and when I do that with this beautiful energy they always feel better. I do it also with myself and my own physical body and it helps me to feel better.
I am hopeful that some of you will notice that you have this benevolent energy and learn to recognize how it feels and try that thing with your breath. Always practice on yourself first so you know that it is something that feels good. Learn how to do that.
Never blow at anything if you're feeling a discomforting energy. This is not good for you and it's not good for them and I simply don't recommend it. It may and probably is the case that they won't feel a thing but it could come back to you in some way that isn't good. That's what I recommend based on what I've heard experiences others have had - it's not something I have done so I can't speak about it personally but it comes in the training you know - that to do it this way not do it that way so I'm passing on the training as well. I'm not to worried about any of you doing that kind of thing because I don't think you're interested in that. Nevertheless it's good to mention it - yes.

I don't know of course and I probably never will know in this life whether it did any good but because I've had good experience of such energy blown with positive energy and good feeling and love and gold light towards human beings and with myself with positive results I believe it helps wherever that plane may be and wherever those cars may be and I hope this inspires you to consider that you may have these capabilities as well.
Look in to it, practice slowly and carefully, try it out on yourself first and maybe good friends to see if it works and if you feel it does work - if you get visions then try it. Perhaps it will be good and just to be sure you can say the following Living Prayer if you like. You might say, "I am asking that all energies I blow towards any and all beings wherever they may be have only benevolent results and develop into the most benevolent outcome."

Look in to it, practice slowly and carefully, try it out on yourself first and maybe good friends to see if it works and if you feel it does work - if you get visions then try it. Perhaps it will be good and just to be sure you can say the following Living Prayer if you like. You might say, "I am asking that all energies I blow towards any and all beings wherever they may be have only benevolent results and develop into the most benevolent outcome."
