Oak Creek Canyon Adventures

Many’s the time, when I lived in Sedona, that on Fridays I would drive up to Flagstaff just for something different and to have a relaxing day.

Driving up there though, took me right through Oak Creek Canyon and I certainly had many unusual experiences there.

I remember once, on a hike, seeing twinkling lights above a pine tree and they just felt like little beings and that was nice.

And of course there was the time when I had one of my most spectacular sightings when I saw a glass ball, I don’t know if it was actually glass but it was completely transparent and there were two people talking in it - two fellas. There was just room for them and the glass ball was just floating right up the highway maybe about 20 feet above me and that was pretty amazing.

Then another time when I was really not that far out of Sedona, just a few miles, there was - I saw crystal clear - a fairy just float right across the road. Looked just like one. Wings and beautiful green dress. She was really gorgeous.

I wasn’t the only one that saw it. There was a youngster - a boy in a car going the other way - he saw it too. I remember because I was watching the fairy go by and then I saw the youngster cause I was sort of turned around. He was pointing out the back window. He was talking, probably yelling to his folks - hey, look what I saw.

And one other time I want to mention and that’s when I was up at the top of the rim, they call it. You might say the top of the hill when you’re coming out of Sedona past the switchbacks.

I was just driving - not that far, a few miles from Flagstaff and all of a sudden I had an urge to turn onto this road. It’s what they call a fire road. I guess they cut them through the forest there to make way for fire engines if they’re needed.

Anyway, I went way down this road. Up along the way I saw cows and a few other critters but I went way in there, miles and miles and I had a feeling to stop. There was a little clearing there and I pulled off and stopped.

I swear I hadn’t been there more than two minutes when I saw this spirit - was just amazing. She must have been at least a hundred feet tall and she was dancing, just twirling and dancing and just looked like she was in complete rapturous joy.

She was dancing around the trees and the trees seemed to be bending towards her. She had some kind of a green garment on - and it was just fabulous. One of the most fabulous things I’ve ever seen in my life. A nature spirit you could say I suppose but she seemed like she was just something fabulously special.

So I’m just recalling these experiences. I’ve had a few other experiences up in Oak Creek Canyon. I don’t know if you’ve been there. It’s north of Sedona and it’s really a special place. So if you happen to go there keep your eyes open. You never know what you’re going to see.

The Bees Looked Out For Me

After having read Mystical Mountain I was reminded about a similar encounter I had years ago when hiking in Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona.

I remember walking down a side trail - and I had never had any problems walking down that trail but suddenly I had a very insistent bee encouraging me I felt, to go elsewhere - and generally speaking when I have such an encounter I am not as afraid of a sting as I am concerned about the surroundings.

So I retraced my steps and when I got back to the main trail the bee hovered - meaning was sort of hanging around the branch trail and was joined by another bee and this was unusual because normally a experience like that ends rather quickly because the bee is either involved - meaning there's something that the bees are doing ahead and they do not wish to be disturbed or the bees are warning me about something.

Often when bees do this kind of thing they are giving warning as they might give to anyone - but bees kept hanging around and I took a couple of steps back on the trail I had been on, the main trail, and the bees kept hovering nearby but they did not approach me.

Finally I took about twenty or thirty steps back and I waited...and while I was waiting the bees left but I stayed where I was and looked around at my surroundings more closely. Off in the distance was a very old cabin in a falling down state of condition.

I don't recall the reason the cabin had been maintained except that I believe it may have been at one time the home of a famous artist or writer - but don't quote me on that - and as I waited I saw something moving in the distance.

I stepped back a little bit further very slowly so that I would have cover. I was about perhaps, maybe two hundred yards away and before I could say Jack Robinson I saw a bear moving about in the bush there.

I continued to, naturally, retrace my steps slowly so as not to arouse concern by the bear until I got well out of the bears sight and then I managed to pick up the pace a bit back to the car ;-) without running.

I got back to the car and I remember that after my initial recollection that this was bear country, though I had not seen one before in that part of the world, I felt a lingering gratitude to my bee friends who had made such an effort to assure my safety.

A Sedona Mystery

Quite a few years ago when I was still living in Sedona, Arizona I was driving home late one night down a two lane blacktop road there. I lived a little ways out of Sedona proper and I remember there wasn't a single other car on the road - I hadn't seen one. That was unusual.

I saw on the road...something ahead. I couldn't make it out. I started slowing down and then as I got closer I realized what it was. There were frogs everywhere on the road. It was almost biblical except that they weren't falling from the sky. They were just sitting, every one of them sitting quietly on the road.

I was still going at such a rate of speed I couldn't stop and I very carefully eased my way through there hoping that I hadn't struck any of them. Of course I wanted to turn around and go back and see if they were alright as I am fond - yes very fond of animals but I got strongly that it was important to keep going. So I said a living prayer and a blessing for their safety.

The next day first thing, I drove up to the area to see - worried that there would be dozens of injured or dead frogs all over the road. Small though it was, it is a highway. Much to my relief and amazement there were no dead frogs or signs of frogs there at all.

I remember how quiet they were which is not typical for frogs and the odd thing is that there was no water around there so they would have had to migrate a ways to get there.

My friend Sandra, around that time in that part of the world, told me that she had had an odd experience a day or two before I had had mine. She had been down by Red Rock Crossing and she had heard the frogs making strange sounds.

She was born and raised in that part of the world and she had never heard frogs making sounds like that. She was very concerned because she knew that frogs have everything to do with water and inviting water and when you're living in a desert area, even high desert, water is very important.

I can't tell you what was the outcome. I never really found out one way or the other but putting together what Sandra told me and my experience of seeing these little beings on the road I said many living prayers and did many blessings that Sedona and the environs would have all the water that the land and people needed.

Another Way To Find Your Safe Passage

Today I'd like to tell you a little story about something that happened sometime ago in my life.

My friend was visiting from out of town and we were up in Flagstaff, when I was living in Arizona. I wanted to show him a different way that you could drive in to Sedona where he wanted to visit.

So, we started going down the interstate and I pulled off on a dirt road that goes through a small community but then is strictly in the country. However I hadn't gone more then - maybe fifty feet down that dirt road when I had a bad feeling.

Now how many times have I spoken to you on this site or on my other about feelings. So many times - yes? So after this many years I'm used to paying attention to those feelings.

I backed up a ways and pulled over to the side of the road and I told my friend, "Could you just wait a moment" and he said, "Yes."

I got out of the car and I put into application something I had learned which you can learn how to do as well - and this is what I did. I walked away from the car to a spot on the land - none of this was paved. I walked around that general area until I had the best physical feeling in my body and I knew that this was the point to begin.

I just stood as if I were - imagine being inside a compass - you've seen a compass before. It has often, a floating needle in order to keep it steady and secure - and also picture a clock superimposed over the compass.

As if I were pointing at 12 o'clock I moved slowly pointing my right arm forward with my hand in the wand position and my palm pointed downward.

I moved as if I was moving around a clock. Picture yourself as the minute hand on a clock - only moving counterclockwise I moved from one hour to the next very slowly and when doing that I observed in my physical body what direction I was pointing in when I had the most warmth.

I couldn't help but notice that when I pointed down the road, in the direction I was driving in the car, I felt bad. I had that bad feeling again and yet there were several other directions I pointed in where I felt warm - I had the good feeling.

So I said to my friend that I was sorry that I wouldn't be able to take him down the road in that beautiful back way to Sedona and we drove down the interstate, which was the long way around, to get to Sedona but that's one of the places where I had the good feeling.

Sometime after we arrived in Sedona I found out that there had been a incident and the police were searching from near Flagstaff to near Sedona in a wide area for someone who had escaped from prison. This person was a man of expertise in living off the land and in acquiring what was needed in the back country to survive and the chase had centered around the exact area that we would have driven through.

We, if we had pursued that drive down that country lane, would most likely have been turned around by the police roadblock about half way into the drive which would have meant about another hour to come back up to where we started and proceed from there.

So - I bring this to your attention because this is something you can do. If you ever have a feeling - perhaps you're driving and you go to turn down a road and there may be more than one way to get to the place you're going to. If you get a bad feeling, then if you have time and you feel safe - and perhaps you have a friend with you - then get out of the car and do that same thing.

Turn around slowly counterclockwise pointing your right arm out straight in front of you with your palm facing towards the ground in the wand position. Point your left arm straight down towards the ground with your left palm facing towards your body so as to be able to experience Earth energy, and notice when you are turning how your physical body feels.

If you get a bad feeling in various directions, see if you can find another way to get where you're going. Notice where you get the good feeling in your body, that might help you to find your way.

I have been talking for several installments now on Mystical Man about instinct. I'm going to change the topic pretty soon but I feel that it is important to give you these ideas and suggestions because our physical instinct is something we are born with - which means that Creator feels this is something we must have to live here on Earth.

In my experience, it doesn't take too much training to learn more or relearn something we were born with that we may have forgotten - or that we have not received instruction to learn how to use.

I hope this has been helpful and as always I wish you - goodlife.
