This past year I began to notice weather patterns in relation to my dancing.
Every time I asked for rain, I got it. Every time. There was dancing involved.
I told someone about this and she jumped all over me, admonishing how selfish it was of me to fiddle with the weather to my benefit while the rest of the world suffers.
So I stopped asking. The rain stopped coming.
Lightening struck a tree in the forest where I live, and a fire was started.
So I went back to asking for rain again, and the rain came back.
I have not been very effective in my attempts to encourage people in drought struck areas to dance for rain.
I wasn't able to throw my heart into dances that requested rain for areas that are far from me.
Maybe this year, I can expand that a bit.
Just wanted to add that a few days ago, heavy rains swept into Northern Ontario. I checked the weather forecast, and these rains were not expected to abait until much later that night, or the next day.
As the rain got heavier, I got more alarmed. My worst fear was an ice storm - having lived through a bad one I knew how much worse it could be in a remote area, in Northern Ontario, where the temps could quickly plunge while everything is hopelessly frozen over.
With that in mind, I asked for the mitigation of these damaging rains.
Within seconds, the torrent of heavy rain turned into very light, but still very prolific snow. So it was a raging snow storm of super light, super tiny, snowflakes. Bad for visibility, sure, bad for the roads, no doubt. But no flooding, and no ice storms. No deaths or casualties.
Oh yeah! A few months ago, I saw a grasshopper sitting on my wall. I said: "Do you want to go out?" I turned around to get something so that I could collect it and put it outside. When I came back, he was waiting on the floor, right by the front door.
And a butterfly who was panicking because I was trying to let it outside as she was trapped in my walkway.
So I said, kind of loud, "Well get in the box!!" And she did.
The next day as I was coming home from the grocery store, she flew by and brushed my cheek with her wing.
